About

The Coping Philosophy

We've been putting a lot of time into trying to describe the magic that builds The Coping Festival each year.

It's Because We C.A.R.E

We Connect, Act, Reflect & Educate each other in our community to create The Coping Festival. It's why it comes together so beautifully with such a kind & honest vibe.

Connect

With Ourselves, Each Other & Causes Greater Than Ourselves

The Coping is a social enterprise that brings people with different life experiences together to connect with purpose. We create spaces where different experiences can be shared & activities are shaped to support mental health, wellbeing & a stronger sense of community.

Together We Create & Tell Stories For Brighter Futures.

Take Action

Feel The Fear & Let Go

Action sports can challenge us to overcome fear & experience the beautiful & brutal fullness of life.

It takes effort to create change, together we can act - to overcome fear with honesty & kindness - so we can inspire others, as we lead by example.

Reflect

On Our Actions & Our Purpose

When we reflect with honesty & kindness, we can see our behaviour & decide if it serves our purpose. We can prepare ourselves to act in a way that aligns with our purpose.

In reflection we can observe the thoughts & opinions of the mind, reminding ourselves that they don't make up who we are - they are trained paths based on everything we have ever experienced. When we find what allows us the space to reflect, we can create new paths & an ever expanding awareness that lets us delve deeper & deeper into what our purpose is.

Educate Ourselves

Towards Collective Wellbeing

Life is gnarly enough, without stories of hate & division. The stories we tell ourselves & each other shape our world.

Through education we can learn the skills that help us achieve & maintain wellbeing in a way that works for us individually but contributes collectively to global wellbeing. We can use the C.A.R.E cycle to check what we learn aligns with our aims.

Our aim for The Coping is to use C.A.R.E to create & share Stories For Brighter Futures that inspire collective wellbeing.
